TECHO club

TECHO is a youth led non-profit organization present in Latin America & the Caribbean. Through the joint work of families living in extreme poverty with youth volunteers, TECHO seeks to overcome poverty in slums. (Techo.org) I've been to two builds and the first time I went began with a curious story. I was with my friends in a party and it was already 12 when I get a call from  Gisella, a ver close friend of mine and current president of TECHO at my school. They told me that one of the team members was not longer going and they had a free spot for me. They told me that if I wanted to go I needed to fill out a paper and wake up at 5 o clock in the morning the next day. I decided go for it because for me, helping is one of the best things to do. "The build" was an experience I will never forget. You do not only go to build a house, but you meet a family and you experience how it is to live in those poor conditions. But, the best part of the build, in my opinion, is seeing how your work makes a family happy and how someone can work and do everything with a smile on their faces because everyone does this because they want and they feel that helping is one of the best things in this world.
